Snow days

January 14th, 2010

My girls and I have been effectively housebound for the past two weeks.  It hasn't been as bad as I might have expected.  Lots of projects have been undertaken (it takes very severe weather indeed to drive me to wash the kitchen walls as I did yesterday) lots of imaginative playing has gone on, there has been baking, even magazines have been read.  I have discovered that I don't need to pack everyday as full as it can get to survive.  It has been good to slow down and just be.  I feel very blessed to have two fairly chilled out daughters who can potter at home when their fidgety mother can't rush them around the place.  And of course, in light of news from Haiti over the last two days, snow is a very minor inconvenience indeed.

Hi Jo

Lisa in Vancouver here (we emailed briefly later last year re your wonderful books!)

Congratulations on the new arrival!

I was just wondering if you could add an RSS feed to your blog? I'm just setting up Google Reader and it would be a wonderful thing!

Thanks and all the best for 2010. :)

Congrats Lisa! Wonderful news. RSS...I will find out about it. I think I would probably have to pay my web builder chaps to add it, and I am a bit stingey, so we'll see!

Lol! No worries. I'll try to keep checking back anyway. :)

Sorry, me again! Just thought I'd pass this on - good news instead of paying for RSS! :)

Lisa- are you by any chance a tech-geek? I am impressed by your research! I followed the link and didn't really understand it, but if it helps you keep up with my site, hooray! How is married life treating you so far anyway? Glad you did it??

By no means am I tech geek! :) I just started using google reader mid-Jan and only then figured out the whole RSS thing. Anyway, one of the updates it gave me one day was this. Basically, if a site doesn't have an RSS feed (or similar), you just copy and paste the URL into google reader's new box and it creates one for you. Result :)

Married life is great, thanks. It's been just over a month now, but feels like ages already - in a good way! I think because it was so long in coming and because we always wanted it to be this way, in spite of all my doubts and searching etc. (Going to be blogging about all of that in case it can be helpful to anyone else. And recommending your books! :)
